Notes for Mathematics Education Class
If we can feel it, actually this lesson have some notes,
not only for now, but also for the future. In the future, we will be
mathematics teacher, this lesson is english for mathematics. It is important
for teacher to understand english. English is in order to able to communicate.
Mathematics education is not only ‘mathematics’ and ‘education’, but also all
of the aspects, factors, and component, such as teacher, student, curriculum,
etc.
The reflection purpose is to improve our ability, to
express the idea and writing. Learning is continue, anytime and everywhere. The
optimal lesson is a lesson under comfortable situation, without pressure. It is
normal for feel afraid in some situation, but we should solve the afraid
problem.
Everything in this world have dimensions. Water have
dimension, to become air or ice. Knowledge also have dimension, high level
knowledge and low level knowledge. Mathematics for university are formal
mathematics or pure mathematics. But, mathematics for children have different
meaning, mathematics are activity. Many in this world didn’t have definition.
We didn’t know the definition of love, height, far, and others. Just narrow
minded people who always want to define everything. So, mathematics for
children didn’t have definition. Mathematics for children (school mathematics)
are activity to search the pattern, solve the problem, investigate, and
communicate.
We can’t define the definition of the lenght, but we
understand the concept, because that is intuition. The problem in school
mathematics lesson started from older people, the teacher who didn’t
understand. Children is innocent. Children just follow the people who have
power.
The easiest way to learn language is copying, listening
video or audio. The lecturer problem is similiar with teacher problem, how to
facilitate the student needs to learn. Traditional method can’t used in the
lesson. Nowadays, there are internet and website. Although the lecturer can’t
teach in the class, the student still can learn from website.
There are so many paradigms about mathematics, so better
for you to have principle. If we didn’t have principle, we will bob up and down
(oscillate). Especially when we do the final thesis, we should synchronize the
theory. To understand, we should read the knowledge. By reading, we will get
many informations. Every people have their own nature, objective nature and
subjective nature. We will get objective nature by interaction.
Nowaday, stimulus response psychology didn’t eligible
anymore with us, because lecturer just give little effect for the student. When
teacher give stimulus, it can’t define if the student will give response too.
Today is unpredictable era. Psychology will change to be holographic
unpredictable. Many cases are unexplainable. So, it important for us to access
information.
It is not only learn english, but also value that build
character. There are 3 steps to build character. First, learn to improve just
for yourself. Second, you learn to improve other people. The highest step is
you learn for institutional, networking, for many people.
The main problem is how to facilitate. We can’t use
traditional method to teach the student. It didn’t effective. Then, other
problem is how you can improve your level, for example is learning english.
Learning english have values, formal and informal (normative). Formal is
something that real, such as school grades, poin, reward. On the other side,
informal is something besides formal, such us skill training, english course,
etc. Today, life will harder than before. To get a job, you should pass many
qualification.
Destiny is decided by your effort. It is about 80% your
job effected by your english. TOEFL test is based on your experience. You
should have experience so you can pass it with good grade. For get experience,
better for you to read many articles, books, and other. It will improve our
remembering ability and intellegency. The characteristic of people who have
high intellegency is they can work under pressure without feel tired. Actually,
stupid person is a person who didn’t intens in doing something.
Finaly, there notes that should be remembered. First, try
to use the sources to learn and improve yourself, anytime, everywhere. The
learning program should be dynamic, not monotone, so student didn’t feel bored.
Changing and find the best method to teach. The best method is changing.
Changing method will complete one method with another method. Second, to
communicate mathematics in english. The biggest problem, that should realized
by people is accountability and sustainability problems. We are trusted by
other, and we trust other. That is accountability. When doing something, it
based on trust. Believe it will give good effect for us. Accountable is
transparant or clear. If it is not clear, there should be any expert or people
who profesional on it.
Lecturer is believed by the student to give score. The
other thing that more important than score is how you will through your future.
The last, keep continue what you do now. Keep doing something good, such as
make reflection, collect poin, and improve your skill. Hope we will get bright
future.
